We have a great Labor Day celebration every year, with our small town parade, carnival, and a lot of fun & food.  There are fun kids' games, and everything from Cow Chip Bingo to a Turtle Race.  This is a shot of us waiting around for the turtle race to start.  You can see our downtown's limestone buildings & brick streets.  This is the hub of the town...the main intersection!  Check out the Florenceweb link at the bottom of this page for Labor Day information.

This is my niece with her turtle from last year, whose name is "Speed."  Unfortunately, while riding home in his cardboard box on my brother's flatbed truck, Speed fell off and ran for the hills & hasn't been heard from since.  She had to use a new turtle this year, and he tied for first place!
